When to wear blue light glasses<\/b><\/h2>\n

By now, you\u2019ve probably heard all the hype around <\/span>blue light filtering glasses<\/span><\/a> \u2014 if not, then here\u2019s a quick refresh:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To start, blue light is emitted all around us, every day (unlike UV light). That means we\u2019re always having some kind of exposure to it, but close and extended exposure may cause eye damage and discomfort. Ever had tired eyes from staring at your smartphone screen for too long? That\u2019s most likely caused by the blue-violet light emitted from your device.<\/p>\n

Blue light lenses are intended to filter blue-violet light exposure. So, generally speaking, the best time to wear blue light glasses would be any time you\u2019re being exposed to blue light \u2014 more specifically, when you\u2019re exposed to it for long hours. Think when you’re out in the sun, working on the computer, watching television, or scrolling through your smartphone.<\/p>\n

However, blue light glasses are totally fine to wear even when you\u2019re not looking at a screen (a rare thing, right?).
