ABC-TV Smart Shopper: Prescription eyeglasses for only $22.90

09/03/2008 Back

I just got a new eyeglass prescription, which means I need to spend some money on some new ones.

I was sent some information from a website that sells prescription eyeglasses for as cheap as $6.95, and that includes the single vision lens.

It's called Eyebuydirect.com. They have quite a variety of styles and colors: Rimless, titanium, metal frames, designer and more.

The plastic and metal frames will cost you the least; overall I was impressed with the prices. The most expensive frames were $99.95.

While the price is awesome, you can't try them on to see how they look on you. But you can upload a photo of yourself and then drag glasses over your picture to get an idea of how the glasses will look.

I selected frames that cost $17.95. Then I punched in my prescription. If you don't have it, just call your eye doctor for it and fill in the information.

Do keep in mind that the price includes a single vision lens prescription. If you need bifocals or a progressive lens that will cost you $19.95 or more.

After shipping, the total cost for these glasses was $22.90 and I received the glasses about a week after I ordered them.

I have never paid less than $80 for a pair of prescription lenses until now.

The glasses turned out great and I can see just fine. So if you were looking for a bargain on those eyeglasses check out the EyeBuyDirect.com website.
