Online Resource

EyeBuyDirect.com offers a virtual dressing room. Upload a photo of yourself, select the styles you want and the program will try the glasses on your photo. You can share the photo with friends, family and EyeBuyDirect’s online community to get feedback.

The company’s frames start as low as $6.95 to $99.95 for Dolce & Gabbana, Calvin Klein, Armani and Diesel frames. You have to take your own eye measurements and send them in with your order. It helps to have a friend on call to ensure accuracy when measuring.

Delivery takes about two weeks.

Bryan Miller
Attorney, Gunster

A glasses-wearer for most of his life, 33-year-old Bryan Miller made the switch from round, wire rims to an edgier, black rectangular frame nearly four years ago. “I was one of the first people in my law firm to start wearing plastic rim glasses.” His frames are by SEE Eyewear, an optical boutique that features its own designs at moderate prices. Miller has gone through four pairs of the same glasses in four years. During his last trip to SEE’s CityPlace store in West Palm Beach, he learned his frame style had been discontinued, so he bought the last two pairs.

» Price: SEE Eyewear frames start in the mid-$200s.

» Where: SEE Eyewear. The nationwide chain has four locations in Florida: Tampa, South Beach, Winter Park and West Palm Beach.
