I never write reviews. Partly because I never have that good of an experience to actually take the time to sit down and write one. And if I have a terrible experience, I just tell a bunch of people and move on. I'll make an exception here. I have been looking for something like this for a long time. Every brick and mortar store has taken the consumer for a ride when it comes to both price and quality. The outrageousness of the price of glasses has prompted people to come in and make things better, just like when the entrepreneurs of Dollar Shave Club and Harry's saw an opportunity to correct the pricing inefficiencies of the likes of Gillette et al. The entrepreneurs saw an opportunity to go direct to the consumer and cut out nearly all of their unnecessary overhead, thereby decreasing the price on both frames and lenses to a level commensurate with what it should have been long ago. There are many other direct-to-consumer eyeglass companies out there like Zenni Optical, but unlike Zenni, Eye Buy Direct actually is a pleasant experience from start to finish, they get your prescription right the first time, and everything is guaranteed so if for some reason you're not satisfied, you can return the product for a full refund. With Zenni, the products are coming straight from China and returns are completely out of the question. And you will be unsatisfied with them. Zenni frames are cheap, they botch the prescription nearly every time, and you're out of luck if that happens. EBD is from Austin, TX, which is a bonus because although I am pro-American when it comes to buying habits, I nearly always go with the superior product, even if that product is not made in America (think German autos over subpar American ones). The website is amazing, the customer service is great when you call in, and when you get your glasses, you'll be shocked at just how good the quality is for the price you've paid. I spent less than $50 for my pair (including lenses and shipping/handling) and I couldn't believe how good they were. If this catches on, the likes of Lenscrafters and other retail stores are in serious trouble. I've also tried Warby Parker, and this is way better. Warby glasses are cheap and double the cost of these. Warby spends an enormous amount on advertising so there's no surprise that the consumer will pay more. I put EBD on par with other great companies like American Express, Harry's, Costco, and Amazon. Try it out, I can promise you it's better than anything out there.
