How to Measure your Pupillary Distance

Do you even know what a pupillary distance is?

It’s easy to become a bit overwhelmed with the technical side of ordering prescription eyewear online. Rest assured, there’s no need to be scared by your prescription. We’ve created a handy video and guide to measuring your pupillary distance so you don’t need to give it a second thought.

So what is pupillary distance:

This would be the distance between your pupils. Most people have one PD value, which means each pupil is equally distant from the bridge of your nose. You can also have two PD numbers, which means each pupil is at a slightly different distance. Not so scary now, right?

Why do I need a PD value:

A PD value should be provided with your description, however, some eye doctors leave this out when testing your eyes. That’s where we thought we’d give you a hand. If you follow our simple video and use our downloadable PD ruler, you can measure your pupillary distance by yourself in the comfort of your own home.
