Here, we chat with him about the eyewear style he “never wears” (until now), his personal favorite frames from his new collection, and more.

Eyebuydirect: Tell us about why you decided to work with us on another eyewear collaboration:
Tan France: It’s always a natural fit for me. I’ve always been passionate about helping people express themselves through style, and eyewear is a crucial part of that. Plus, I firmly believe great style should be accessible to everyone and Eyebuydirect’s wide range of frames, easy-to-use try-on technology, and overall quality has continued to really impress me.
Eyebuydirect? What inspired you to create your own collection with us?
Tan France: I love bold statement accessories, and this collection delivers just that. It’s all about embracing your personal style with a touch of glam. I wanted to create frames that not only look fabulous, but give you that boost of confidence when you put them on. Take the Risk and Outlaw frames — these are styles I’d absolutely rock on a red carpet or even for a chic brunch with the girls. It’s about bringing that red carpet energy to your everyday life.
How would you recommend styling your new collection?
Styling these frames is all about embracing bold, glamorous energy. For a night out, I’d pair these with sleek, ’80s-inspired pieces — think a sharp-shouldered blazer or a sequined top. Don’t be afraid to play with textures and colors that complement the frames. The key is to embrace that confident, unapologetic style. Whether you’re hitting the dance floor or enjoying a chic dinner, these frames are designed to make you feel like a VIP, honey!
What are your favorite Eyebuydirect styles? From best-sellers to the new Tan France’s Own Collection?
Obviously there are a lot of choices, but for me, I love Eyebuydirect’s statement styles like the Tempora, Arin, and Alaric frames. Then, for something more minimal or classic, I like the Event, Owen, Seah and Aura styles. I’ve even come around on aviators after trying the Boreas and Ridley styles — these are so darn chic. From my collection, Risk and Outlaw, of course!
How do you incorporate eyewear and/or sunnies into your everyday style? Any tips?
You really need to find the shape that works for you first. It’s all about making sure whatever eyewear or sunnies you pick out are something that you’ll wear and feel absolutely fabulous in. Having a few pairs of glasses that vary in shape, style, and lens tints will really help you put the finishing touch on any look and add a bit of visual intrigue.
What do you look for when it comes to everyday eyewear and/or sunglasses? Tell us about your aesthetic!
For my eyewear, I look for styles that are chic and versatile — pieces I know I’ll be able to grab and easily style with whatever I’m wearing. Trust me, it makes getting ready in the morning so much easier! I typically never wear a classic aviator, but Eyebuydirect’s Ridley, which is more square than a typical aviator and features interesting cut-outs, I could live in. Color-wise, I’m very into naturals and tan colors right now.
How do you feel when you accessorize with eyewear?
It completes the look! I love that you can use eyewear to curate the vibe of your outfit, from trendy streetwear and rare shapes to something more elevated or formal.
What trends have you noticed in the eyewear space?
I’ve noticed the resurgence of nostalgic or retro styles like what some of us may remember from the ‘90s, along with other very fun, obscure shapes and bright colors. I love seeing people have fun with their eyewear.
In what ways do you think eyewear can highlight one’s empowerment and individuality?
Eyewear is a fantastic way to showcase your individuality and feel empowered. It’s literally framing your face, so why not make it fabulous? Choosing frames that reflect your personality or how you feel in that moment — whether quirky, sophisticated, or bold — is an instant confidence boost. It’s like wearing your identity right there on your face. Plus, switching up your glasses can completely transform your look, allowing you to express different sides of yourself. To me, that’s what empowerment is all about — confidently presenting yourself to the world, exactly as you want to be seen.
How do you use your eyewear to showcase your personal style?
Eyewear is often the first thing people notice, so I use it to set the tone for my entire look. I love playing with different shapes, colors, and textures in frames to complement my outfit or mood. Sometimes I’ll choose a bold frame to add drama to a simple ensemble, or a sleek style to elevate a casual look. For me, glasses are an extension of personality — whether I’m aiming for sophistication, edginess, or whimsy, I can use them to communicate my style without saying a word.
