SPH (Sphere)

Spherical error, or overall power of lens is the basic part of your prescription. A (+) means you have trouble seeing near, and a (-) means you have trouble seeing things faraway.

CYL (Cylinder) & Axis

A cylinder value indicates astigmatisms or perpetually blurry vision. Axis—measured between 1 and 180°— tell us the orientation of the astigmatism

ADD (Addition)

This number is sometimes written NV for near vision and is used for multifocal lenses and readers

PRISM

We can process prism prescriptions to correct eye orientation

Vertical Prism is used to help correct vertical eye misalignments and is prescribed in opposite directions for both eyes

Horizontal Prism is used to help correct lateral eye misalignments and is always prescribed in the same direction for both eyes

PD (Pupillary Distance)

It's just what sounds like—the distance in millimeters (mm) between your pupils. An average PD measurement is 63 mm, but varies by person. If it's not on the prescription, you can measure it yourself by:
• printing the downloadable PD ruler.
• watching our tutorial video.

How to Rock Your Yellow Eyeglasses

The color yellow is a versatile one indeed. Not convinced? While most people are familiar with the average pair of yellow acetate eyeglasses, many different types also exist in our catalog. Here’s just a couple examples:

    • • Are you feeling adventurous? Yellow wooden eyeglasses are a bold and avant-garde choice that just oozes character. By using carefully crafted striated acetate, these textured frames offer a classy aura that’s perfect for casual daytime outings.

    • • Believe it or not, yellow eyeglass frames aren’t seasonal at all. Their versatile looks allow you to look your best during every season, whether it’s the peppy days of Summer or the mellow weeks of Fall.
    • • When searching for your very own pair of yellow eyeglasses, keep this in mind: they have big personality. So naturally, when you’re looking for that perfect frame shape, you should look for frames with big lenses too!

How to Wear Yellow Eyeglass Frames

In the eyewear world, the color yellow is known for its incredible brightness and outfit defining character. On their own these glasses are a fashion statement, but knowing how to accent your clothing with them makes them a hundred times more fashionable. Here are a couple fashion tips to get you started:
